Join us in congratulating Managing Director Lucy Edelstein as she celebrates her 8 year anniversary at Triple E Ltd - a family owned business that has been a key player in the stage engineering world for 40 years.
12 August 2024
Lucy has a background deeply rooted in Triple E, spending a lot of time in its various premises and on trade show stands during childhood and her teenage years. After studying Technical Theatre & Stage Management at RADA she extended her studies for a third year to achieve a BA (Hons) specialising in Production Management. Lucy then spent several years working in theatre and film, expanding her industry skillset and business knowledge.
Lucy began her journey within the company in 2016 in a dual position of ‘Sales & Projects’ while working towards a Bachelor of Engineering degree at the Open University. She quickly focused on business development, the organic growth of the business and exploring new avenues such as distributors in new markets as well as streamlining the business.
After spending three years working in various departments in the company David and Brenda Edelstein initiated a succession plan. This plan started with Lucy taking on a board role as Deputy Director. One of the most significant first steps in Lucy’s new role was the impressive expansion of Triple E’s international distributor network with new and renewed deals overseas.
Under Lucy’s directorship the company has seen a 54% increase in staff and a 43% increase in turnover. This includes a significant increase in the the percentage of women working at the company - at only 18% when she started the workforce is now 45% female. Lucy is particularly proud that the women are in technical and management roles throughout the company, as well as sales and admin.
In 2020, Lucy, Founding Directors, David and Brenda, and Rowan Coupe, a 10 year stalwart of Unusual Rigging, setup EEE Build Ltd as a subsidiary company to offer a dedicated installation, servicing and maintenance company for all structural systems and stage engineering needs, from initial planning through to ongoing maintenance. Following this, Lucy conducted a restructuring in 2021 with recruit Jo Bunnell-Thompson in the newly created Head of Operations role, resulting in improved operational efficiency.
In January 2022 Lucy was appointed as Managing Director, having recently achieved ISO 9001 certification for the company. David and Brenda Edelstein are pleased to have supported Lucy in assuming full leadership responsibilities as they move into consultancy roles within the business.
Looking forward, Lucy, the directors and the senior team are very much focused on sustainable company growth to ensure the company is around and thriving for another 40 years, reducing the company's use of plastics and improving its carbon footprint. They are working to enhance the Triple E brand worldwide and broaden market reach globally, specifically in the Australasian region by strengthening stock holding distributors and improving product knowledge in that region through training.
All in all, the company is flourishing under Lucy's management and her vision for growth ensures an exciting future at Triple E!
