Winners of 2025 ABTT Award!

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Triple E has won its sixth ABTT Product of the Year Award, this time for our brand-new UniBeam Demountable Scenery Carrier (UBM2901).

Winners of 2025 ABTT Award For Engineering Product of the Year!

Presented at the 45th ABTT Theatre Show, this award is not just a win for us - it’s a celebration of practical engineering, collaboration, and over 40 years of theatrical innovation. It’s also a direct reflection of our ongoing commitment to solving real-world backstage challenges with smart, simple solutions.

Why We Created the UBM2901

The idea to make the UniBeam Scenery Carrier demountable came from our brilliant Design Engineer, Simon. At first, we weren’t sure it could be done without compromising our high working load limit, but the idea was just too good to ignore.

Fast-forward through years of development and refinement, and the result is the UBM2901: a scenery carrier that maintains the 385 kg working load limit, runs smoothly and silently on both curved and straight UniBeam tracks, and (here’s the big win) can be removed from the track at any point. No more dismantling the entire system just to rearrange your rig!

With just a 4 mm Allen key and access to the track, the side of the carrier opens after removing two screws. A hinge mechanism means the side pulls outward before releasing adding a layer of built-in safety. Our classic face plate also ensures the carrier won’t fall off once a side is open.

In short, it’s simple, strong and solves a massive headache for any venue needing to reposition curtains or scenic elements in a fixed track layout.

What Makes the UBM2901 a Theatre Game Changer?

This product is particularly useful for theatres, multipurpose performance venues, and touring productions where speed and flexibility are essential.

You no longer need to dismantle your entire tracking system just to remove a few components. The carrier can be opened and removed precisely where it’s installed.

Because it matches the original UniBeam system in terms of strength and build quality, it can be seamlessly integrated into existing setups without compromising load capacity or performance. It also works with our TRA8004 clamp, which adds even more versatility in terms of mounting and pivoting scenic elements.

A Huge Thanks from us to the ABTT 2025 Judging Panel

We’ve been attending the ABTT Theatre Show for over four decades. Our first award was in 1984 for the loose pin hinge that changed the way theatre hardware worked. This year marked our 41st year exhibiting and the tradition continues.

Over the two days, we welcomed hundreds of visitors to our stand - including long-standing friends, new faces, and even retired legends like Tony Jenner.

We also had the pleasure of hosting our ModTruss contact Jocke, the Sales Manager / Partner for ModTruss Europe. He is now our main contact supplying our UK distribution of Modtruss, as we have been for the last 10 years.

What’s more, we also make the trophies for the winners in our precision engineering department and have been for a decade – so we are very proud to have another one of our own to keep a hold of.

Why we won’t stop here

We’ve always believed the best engineering isn’t just clever - it’s useful. That’s why we make it a point to listen, iterate, and refine. The UniBeam Demountable Scenery Carrier is a direct result of this kaizen approach in engineering for the stage.

Whether you're designing a touring show, working in a multi-use performance space, or running a permanent theatre installation, this product is built to make your life easier.

We’re proud to have won again at ABTT - and even prouder to keep pushing the boundaries of what tracking systems can do.
